The Dark X-Men was formed by Director of H.A.M.M.E.R., Norman Osborn to be his team of X-Men. The team was led by Emma Frost during the San Francisco riots. It turned out that Emma infiltrated Norman Osborn as part of Cyclops' plan to deal with Osborn. When the time came to return to the X-Men, she brought Namor as well as Cloak and Dagger along. Mystique took over as leader. The Dark X-Men later encountered the return of Nate Grey.
